UFC: Tapout Xbox

Featuring the world’s top Mixed Martial Arts athletes, the Ultimate Fighting Championship advanced from a single pay-per-view episode in 1993 to an annual event with multiple competitions. Xbox owners can experience this distinctive sport in UFC: Tapout, which embraces such diverse fighting styles as boxing, wrestling, kickboxing, karate, and more as athletes compete within an eight-sided arena appropriately entitled “The Octagon.” Twenty-seven authentic UFC fighters are represented in two divisions: Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight.
Success involves implementing a variety of realistic fighting positions, each with its own advantages and disadvantages, to gain control over the opponent. Each fighter begins in a standing position, but as the match progresses, a number of different submissions can be attempted, such as upper and lower guards, lower and upper full mounts, and lower and upper back mounts. Standard attacks include left and right punches, left and right kicks, and an assortment of counter attacks to avoid a takedown.
Arcade mode involves choosing a fighter and then challenging the remaining athletes in the same weight class, one after another, until the player is crowned champion. Exhibition is a single match between two fighters from any weight class, while Tournament supports up to eight players in a single-elimination format spanning three fights. The UFC Mode follows the same format as Tournament but is only open to single players. The final mode, Create Fighter, lets players choose from 120 different faces, 50 different clothing styles, 8 voices, and one of 11 fighting disciplines. Up to 480 points can be assigned to four areas: life, stamina, punch skill, and kick skill. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide

Ultimate Fighting Championship PlayStation

The ~Ultimate Fighting Championship tournaments started in the 1990s, giving martial artists of the world a chance to distinguish themselves in a fighting environment with very few rules. Fighters could be matched up against fighters of any style, and the match ended only when one fighter submitted.
The popularity of the sport resulted in the creation of other mixed martial arts tournaments and the evolution and merging of fighting styles for greater effectiveness. Ultimate Fighting Championship is a 3D fighting game that tries to simulate the experience of a real mixed martial arts fight. Players can choose from a selection of established ~UFC fighters, or create their own fighter through the Career Mode.
While in Career Mode, players start the character creation process by selecting from several style templates, then using points earned through fighting and beating a series of progressively more difficult fighters to buy attribute upgrades in stamina, endurance, punching ability, kicking ability, or to learn certain techniques.
In addition to the Career Mode, the game offers several gameplay modes: a single match exhibition mode, a UFC tournament mode, a champion mode, as well as a training mode. Fighters created through the career mode can also be used in any of these modes.
During a match the fighters can roam freely within the confines of the octagonal fighting area. Like more traditional fighting titles, each fighter has a health bar, but fights can be won through knockouts or by successfully applying standing or ground submission techniques.
Both striking and grappling techniques are allowed in the game, and fights that start off standing can go to the ground when one fighter successfully shoots or tackles. While on the ground, the fighters can be in several postures common to mixed martial arts fights, including the mount, guard, and back mount. ~ Kyle Knight, All Game Guide

How would you go about becoming an mma fighter?
How would I become an MMA fighter. It doesn't matter amateur or professional. I'm 15, I train on my own 1-3 hours daily, am pretty good at fighting, and I have a background in kung fu, tae kwan do, and karate.
It sounds like you have a good stand up arsenal but you lack a ground game try wrestling in high school to start off you know and then look for a judo or jiu jitsu school so you can keep adding to your ground game with submissions. I mean youre still pretty young i mean your 15. but the younger the better.
Another idea is enter an ammy mma fight with people who do it that way win or lose you can think on what you need to work on but I think you have to be 18 to enter an ammy mma fight

What's the difference between kickboxing, boxing and muay thai?
I want to to take either kickboxing, boxing or muay thai. I've been studying tae kwon do for five years and want to expand my knowledge for martial arts. Which do you reccomend?
1. Boxing uses only punches or upper body strikes. You can't strike below the belt under any circumstances.
2. Kick-boxing is just like boxing, only you can use kicks.
3. Muay Thai- is Thai Boxing. You can strike with fist, elbows, knees, and feet.
Mauy Thai is definitely the one of the "in" martial arts of the day, because it is so effective. More than likely you will find all three at the same gym. They all use the same training equipment. Right now I believe that an American style of Muay Thai has developed.
American Thai Boxing, is usually taught by a professional kick- boxer. He just incorporates the elbow and knee strikes. This style is so effective that some of the highest ranked Muay Thai fighters are from Western Countries.
My opinion of Muay Thai is very high. Also, I believe that the Western versions offer better defense, than the traditional.

What is the best fighting style to counter jiu jitsu?
Jiu jitsu seems to be all the rage, but is there a fighting style that specifically counters what jiu jitsu? If not, what is a fighting style that is most effective against it?
Ground and Pound. It's really difficult to lock up a limb if their face is getting beatin in and they can't see with all the blood in their eyes

How can some one get into King of the Ring, UFC, or PRIDE fighting ?
My son just turned 18 and wants to get into a fight club. He's like 6'4", and weighs like 245 lbs. and knows boxing, and street fighting. Knows he has alot to learn, and is willing to go through it all.
His best bet would be to enter some "open" tournments in the area. EX: The N.A.G.A. holds grappling tourments where one does not need to be part of a club to participate. If he does well there other's that are part of clubs will attempt to recruit him. From there he will train with others and when skill levels raise they will support him into UFC events and or Pride events. Or look for any training facilities in your area that specialize in martial arts but make sure they are endorse by a national agency. If your located out in the lost lands it might be tough but worth the effort if he's really serious about it.
