we’re both sort of …
we’re both sort of right. Jigoro Kano learned jiu jutsu. Then he taught his students moves in jiu jutsu that were being forgotten , changed it a bit, and added other things that he put together, and that’s pretty much what judo is today.
but, complaing wherever moves come from dont matter that much, as long as it’s useful.

the throws of the …
the throws of the the old jujutsu are pretty complicated and long unlike the throws of judo. the locks & chokes are also more dangerous. and they have more strikes to weak spots. the old jujuts are not very common nowadays, its not promoted as a ‘combat sport’ as much as judo/bjj. some of those techniques can be seen today in what is called aikido.

ure both are wrong …
ure both are wrong and right!! lol. as the history said, judo came from jujutsu. then 1 judo (forgot his name) taught judo to the gracies, n they called brazillian jujutsu. nowadays, when people say jujutsu, esp in mma and stuff they refer to brazilian jujutsu, which are rooted from judo. so the (brazillian)jujutsu moves seen in mma and movies nowaday are actually more similar to judo moves. the old jujutsu moves used by the samurai are actually more rough and brutal. continue: read down

Tell that to any …
Tell that to any experienced Judo martial artist, like myself having done Judo for 5 years in my youth, this is not some move where just anyone can be like oh I would just choke him. When the move is executed correctly, you are left off your feet = you don’t have an option to do anything when you have no grounding. Your theory of I would just choke him is an absure amateur comment. Watch many professional MMA fights and you will see this move often. Everyone says oh that move wouldn’t work on me

If you do the the …
If you do the the toss right (Vomiting blood) clearly demonstrated at 1:17 when you squat that prevents your opponent from doing the choke plus this move done in real life (fast) the minute you even go for the choke your getting slammed on your back. Vomiting Blood go get educated smart one!
